Looks like a girl!

A couple weeks ago we went to the doctor for the "big" ultrasound where they do all the measurements. The baby is healthy and developing as expected. The tech spent some time trying to figure out the gender and after some nudging on my belly, got the baby to move. Looks like it's a girl! How very exciting! I didn't think I would ever have a daughter, as Robert comes from a couple generations of boys. As my grandpa says, we're carrying on the tradition of the last couple generations of my mom's family... a girl first. Then a boy typically comes next, so hopefully that is true for us because Robert says we have to keep going until we have a boy. :-)

I'm feeling pretty good these days. Have had some moments of feeling very overwhelmed and unsure about how I'll handle be a working mom, but now I think I'm passing that and simply getting excited about meeting the baby! She has been moving a lot lately. As I type, I can feel her rolling around and kicking in there. What a neat feeling!

Here I am at 21 weeks and 4 days:

A girl, how exciting!! Oh, just wait Robert says he still wants a boy now, but most little girls are daddy's girls!! Abigail is for sure a Daddy's girl, she's has James wrapped around her little finger!! Congratulations, have fun decorating the nursery and getting ready for her arrival!! You look great by the way!!
